The CPC/PI Committee
Cooperation with the professional community and Public Information.
Who we are and what we do:
The purpose of the Cooperation with the Professional Community Committee, (CPC) is to provide to those who have professional contact with alcoholics, information about what AA, is and isn’t, and what AA does and does not do. Attempts shall be made to establish good rapport and cooperation between the professional community and AA members of the Area, district and group levels.
The purpose of the Public Information committee, (PI) is to keep the Area, Districts, groups, and individual AA members informed of overall Public information guidelines and current issues suggested by the General Service Conference so that the AA districts and groups may more effectively carry the message to the alcoholic who still suffers.
Holding true to our primary purpose the Cooperation with the Professional Community (C.P.C.) has continued to be one of our great assets in carrying the A.A. message to the still-suffering alcoholic. Our purpose is to inform professionals and future professionals about A.A. — what we are, where we are, what we can do, and what we cannot do. Through this medium, District 4 helps establish a stronger sense of trust, communication and cooperating with our community.
Since last quarter we have carried the message to a hospital, a major university and a shelter all here in Northern Virginia. Additionally, we have 13 literature racks placed in establishments in the area.
We are actively seeking individuals and groups who would like to be of service in the following ways.
Reach out to the professional community
Bring regular meetings into institutions
Sponsor a literature rack
